The Portraits of Resilience project is a research and art collaboration, using photos and voice recordings to answer two key questions: What are your community’s sources of resilience and what are your community’s sources of risk?
This project was a community-engaged collaborative arts-based project of community resilience in Indianapolis that uses the photovoice methodology.
Photovoice is understood as a “process in which grassroots communities are asked to document their lived experience through photos and discuss these photos, with the aims of identifying and representing their community, promoting dialogue, encouraging actions, and potentially influencing decision making on the policy level.”
